Steamy Recs February 2024

Hi Wild Ones! This was a month for epic fantasy (Kushiel’s Mercy), and books with a polyamorous leaning (the Scientific Method series). Actually, they both have a polyam element, even though it’s extremely mild and very background in Kushiel’s Mercy. But Love as Thou Wilt is a core tenant of the world of Terre d’Ange, and they mean it. It’s one of the things I love about that series.

Kushiel’s Mercy by Jacqueline Carey

This wraps up Cary’s second Kushiel trilogy, and what a wonderful close to the series it was! The adventure in it was unexpected and definitely epic. The love was deep and star-crossed – and kinky. And so many plot threads came together to get resolved in this book it was amazing. It was everything I could have wanted for these character’s ending, and I closed the book with warmth in my heart. Definitely a series worth reading.

Breaking Down by Kris Ripper

So I didn’t expect this book to go the way it did. At all. And it was a bit rough. But I love the characters so I was down for the ride. I’m glad I hung on.

Roller Coasters by Kris Ripper

There was so much unexpected growth in this book, I loved it. And I love the way things from this book play out in later books.

The Boyfriends Tie the Knot by Kris Ripper

I absolutely loved the way the polyamorous relationship was handled with the wedding. There was a lot to love with this book, despite an unsupportive and homophobic family with drama. But it was a lovely wedding, and a great coming-together of the characters.
