Steamy Recs November 2025

Hi Wild Ones! Every month I recommend books, movies, and TV that I’ve enjoyed. Looking for your next read or watch? Read on.

This month I have a sci-fi romance, a short sci-fi story that’s unique, and a contemporary queer TV show that I love.

A Spy to Die For by Kris DeLake

A sci fi romance with a little spice that was pretty unique. Both characters are human, which is kind of unusual in sci fi romance these days, but it’s the political system and the setup around the assassins that’s really the unique part. It’s the second in the series (Assassins In Love was the first) and I enjoyed both of them.

Present by Kristine Kathryn Rusch

A suggestive story about a sexy birthday gift that doesn’t go as expected.

Heartstopper

I just love this group of characters and their loves and friendships. Season 3 of the Netflix show had a character dealing with self harm and mental health issues so it was the heaviest so far. I actually waited a while to watch it because I wasn’t ready for that when the season dropped. But though it was a hard journey, it ended well and he had lots of support. I love how this show manages to walk a fine line between real world issues on one hand, and comforting vibes on the other hand. It’s always a comforting ending, which I really find myself craving.

Note: I don’t provide links for the books in these rec lists anymore, but you should know I get books from all over the place: Amazon (including Audible), Barnes & Noble, Chirp books, Kobo, Smashwords, the library (including the free Queer Liberation Library), direct from the author, Kickstarter, and Storybundle. So if you don’t find the book at your usual store please consider looking around for it. Don’t forget the author’s website! Many authors sell direct to readers, and authors make more when you buy direct from them.
