Steamy Recs October 2025

Hi Wild Ones! Every month I recommend books, movies, and TV that I’ve enjoyed. Looking for your next read or watch? Read on. This month I have some great sapphic erotica for you, some of which is kinky, and a touching coming of age story.

More Serious Pleasure edited by the Sheba Collective

I finished this anthology and wanted to share the rest of the stories I enjoyed. You can find other specific stories I enjoyed here and here. I loved the whole thing, though. It was really a fun book and I’m so glad my friend loaned it to me. I may never have come across it otherwise.

Rotary Spokes meets Tallulah the Bag Lady by Fiona Cooper – two women in this story are real characters and I enjoyed reading them.

How to Suck Them Neckbones by Terri L Jewell – this poem is flavorful and incredibly erotic. Probably the most erotic thing I’ve ever read that isn’t specifically about sex. It’s quite memorable, and I loved it.

Fuck the Computer by Tina Bays – a kinky fantasy, a story from someone who must have had one of the first computers. The story was prescient for the ways that many of us have facilitated love or sex through computers over the years.

Sex and Water by Sarah Kay – a story that takes place around Chanukah but is really a steamy vignette of a good time in the bath.

I Watch You Undress by Julie A Bennett – a lovely little poem of kink and trust.

Apples With Rosie by Jo Smith – a short, lyrical little story that almost reads like poetry.

Please be aware that the book contains a story of children playing “doctors and nurses” in an erotic way. It is That Timely Nuance, if you’d like to decide ahead of time whether you want to read it.

The Half of It

This is a lovely, poignant little coming-of-age story that’s not a romance but is full of love and discovery and potential. Very sweet.

Note: I don’t provide links for the books in these rec lists anymore, but you should know I get books from all over the place: Amazon (including Audible), Barnes & Noble, Chirp books, Kobo, Smashwords, the library (including the free Queer Liberation Library), direct from the author, Kickstarter, and Storybundle. So if you don’t find the book at your usual store please consider looking around for it. Don’t forget the author’s website! Many authors sell direct to readers, and authors make more when you buy direct from them.
